Bottlers, lobbyists set to pop top on tax repeal.
The soft drink and hospitality lobbies are working overtime to convince legislators that the "soda pop tax" is unfair and ought to be canned. Given that the proceeds of the tax are earmarked for the state's Medicaid Trust Fund, a repeal is going to be a harder sell than the ill-fated "New" Coke.
