Nursing Homes Ready to Accept Cost-Based System.
NEGOTIATORS FOR THE Arkansas Department of Human Services and the state's nursing home industry are "98 percent there" in agreeing on a new system for reimbursement under the Medicaid program, according to officials on both sides.
The new system would bring, a fundamental change in the way nursing homes are reimbursed for care of patients enrolled in the Medicaid program by switching from a flat-rate reimbursement to a cost-based system.
